Reyna Named Young Male Player of the Year
Gio Reyna has been voted the 2020 U.S. Soccer Young Male Player of the Year. Reyna was previously nominated in 2018 and 2019, but took home the title this year for his work with the USMNT. Four days after his first appearance with the USMNT, having earned his first cap under the age of 18, he became the third-youngest goal scorer in USMNT history when he opened the scoring in the 6-2 Victory over Panama. He made his UEFA Champions League debut against Paris Saint-Germain on Feb. 18, contributing to both of Dortmund’s goals in a 2-1 victory. He went from regular sub to starter for Dortmund this season.
- D.C. United has appointed Danita Johnson as president of business operations, making history as she becomes the first black president in MLS.
- Napoli has won its appeal against the 3-0 forfeit to Juventus, and the match will be replayed.
- The Columbus Crew’s Lucas Zelarayan celebrated with a mural in his honor in Argentina after the MLS Cup victory.
That’s going to do it for me today, everyone. Have a great day and stay safe out there.
