Orlando City’s offense scored two goals for the first time in a month, but the defense couldn’t support those two goals, allowing LAFC to claim a point with a goal late in the proceedings. Considering the competition, even with both teams missing key players, the result could have been much worse. It’s funny how the order the goals are scored changes one’s perception of the outcome. At any rate, it’s a draw and that’s more success than the club’s other two teams had this weekend. We break down the tie against LAFC and choose our Man of the Match selections.
The OCB minute is short and sour, as usual, with the Young Lions bowing out meekly to North Texas. The Pride were went to Reign FC and fell completely out of the game in the opening 17 minutes. The team then had to endure 90 minutes of weather delay before finishing off their 3-1 beating in Washington. We update you “live” in this show about the Pride’s 1-0 loss to Chicago last night. That’s 10-player Chicago to you. Sigh.
Hey, at least there’s good news with the Pride raising money for breast cancer awareness. Check out the podcast and this story for details.
Things weren’t much better for the USMNT, which got manhandled by Mexico on Friday before fighting to a 1-1 draw against Uruguay on Tuesday night. The Yanks should have had a shot at winning if not for a botched (and obvious) handball call that was never made.
We dip into our listener mail, and, of course, we gave our key match-ups and predictions for the Lions vs. the Revs this Saturday night.

Here’s how show No. 177 went down:
0:15 - The Lions were better than expected against Los Angeles FC, Carlos Vela or no Carlos Vela and came within a dozen minutes of a shocking win. But these are the Lions, so...nope.
25:51 - The OCB minute was sad. The Pride recap was sad. The USMNT’s pair of friendlies were partially sad. Tears...tears in the rain.
54:18 - The Pride’s big announcement for the home finale is a charitable one. Plus, we answer our listeners’ questions and give our key match-ups and predictions for Saturday’s game vs. New England.
