USA vs. Ecuador, International Friendly: Photo Gallery

An album of images from the USMNT’s 1-0 win over Ecuador at Orlando City Stadium.

The men’s national teams from the United States and Ecuador invaded Orlando City Stadium last night for an international friendly. It was a 90-minute defensive struggle with neither team giving space in its defensive third, but ultimately the USMNT was able to squeak out a 1-0 win thanks to a fortunate deflection of a Gyasi Zardes shot from distance that somehow found its way between the crossbar and goalkeeper Alexander Dominguez.

The USMNT is now 2-0 at Orlando City Stadium and, if you throw in the USWNT’s 1-0 win over England in the 2018 SheBelieves Cup, the purple palace has now seen the two U.S. senior national teams go a combined 3-0. It might not be the fortress we’d hoped for the local club team yet, but at least the national teams are finding success there.

Last night’s match saw a mixture of young stars and established internationals, with the likes of John Brooks lining up next to Aaron Long. Tyler Adams got a run-out at right back and before the night was over we saw DeAndre Yedlin on the wing. Unfortunately, Weston McKennie was injured in the match, which was a somber moment on an otherwise celebratory night at the stadium.

The photo gallery below captures some of the excitement of the Yanks hosting Sebas Mendez’s Ecuador side. We hope you enjoy these images from the match.
