It was a must-win game and the Orlando Pride didn’t. A 3-1 loss on their home pitch against the Chicago Red Stars will prevent the Orlando Pride from participating in the 2018 NWSL playoffs after a disappointing season. With one match still to play, there isn’t much more than, well pride, for the Pride to play for.
A rough spell just before halftime ultimately knocked Orlando out of postseason contention, although the writing was on the wall long before Sam Kerr opened the scoring. The Pride lacked precision in the attacking half, sound positioning in the defensive half, and urgency all over the pitch.
Although the match and the season didn’t go as we’d all hoped, we do hope you’ll enjoy these images from the match at Orlando City Stadium.
