The Orlando Pride entered Saturday night in need of taking something from their three-game home stand after consecutive losses. They got what they needed, although it took a while to get it. Marta’s late goal secured a come-from-behind 2-1 win over the Washington Spirit to get Orlando back into the win column.
It was a lopsided game in terms of play, with the Pride dominating possession, passing, and shot attempts. Although Orlando fired more than 30 shots, that final bit of sharpness was largely missing. Sydney Leroux’s goal leveled the score and set the stage for Marta’s late heroics.
The Pride will now hit the road, where they’ve done well in 2018, but before that trip starts in Houston on Wednesday, we hope you’ll enjoy these photos from a hard-fought win at Orlando City Stadium.
