Orlando City vs. Atlanta United: Photo Gallery

An album of images from the Lions’ tough 2-1 loss to Atlanta at Orlando City Stadium.

As the saying goes, all good things come to an end, and so it was with Orlando City’s winning streak. The 2-1 loss to Atlanta United was disappointing but ultimately it showed that the Lions can hang with the league’s best, as Orlando was at times the better side, particularly in the second half.

The early penalty certainly put the visitors in a good position and the defensive midfielders didn’t have their best match from a positional or an awareness standpoint in the first 45 minutes, allowing the league’s best team to build a 2-0 lead. Orlando seemed a good bet to equalize in the late going on a night when a draw seemed a fair result for both sides, but that second goal never came.

Nevertheless, it’s important to see how the team responds in the next match. Good teams show the ability to bounce back from defeats. It won’t be easy with the next match coming at BMO Field in Toronto, even though the Reds will be missing Jozy Altidore and Sebastian Giovinco. All road games are difficult and Toronto FC has a deep and solid roster.

We hope you enjoy these images from a contentious, chippy, and hard-fought battle between Orlando City and Atlanta United.
