Orlando Pride vs. Utah Royals FC: Photo Gallery

An album of images from the Pride’s 2018 season opener against the new team from Salt Lake City.

Carlos Romero, The Mane Land

The Orlando Pride fell behind only a few minutes into their season opener at Orlando City Stadium last night but they fought their way to a 1-1 draw behind Marta’s expertly taken penalty later in the first half. It was the historic first game in the history of Utah Royals FC, and if not for a controversial penalty call it could even have been the club’s first victory.

Neither team had a lot of luck breaking down the other and the Pride were especially sloppy in the attack, although they held the most possession and had more of the build-up play, coming close to springing Alex Morgan and Sydney Leroux multiple times. Speaking of Leroux, she was one of five new faces in the Pride lineup, joining Poliana, Shelina Zadorsky, Carson Pickett, and Christine Nairn in making her debut in purple.

We hope you enjoy these images from last night’s season opener.
