Orlando Pride Head Coach Tom Sermanni called it a “must-win” game when his team was preparing to host FC Kansas City. The message obviously got through to his players, as the Pride took apart visiting FCKC to the tune of a 4-1 final score line that could have been even more lopsided. Orlando posted a club record 25 shot attempts and three players — Alex Morgan, Toni Pressley, and Kristen Edmonds — notched their first goals of the season in the rout.
Prepare for another Save of the Week candidate (or two) from Aubrey Bledsoe, who wasn’t called upon often but when she was she had to be special (and was). Pressley might also have the NWSL Goal of the Week with her first league goal on a blast from outside the area.
It was a night to remember for the Pride, who set a new team mark for goals in a home game, and equaled the four-goal output from a 4-2 win earlier this year in Houston.
We hope you enjoy these pictures capturing the spirit of a big win at Orlando City Stadium.
