After the first six games of May, it seemed at times as if Orlando City might never win again, but game No. 7 proved to be, at times, lucky, and the Lions snapped their winless streak with a 2-0 win over D.C. United. Orlando has performed better this season than it did last night but the club still controlled most of the game. But a couple of lucky moments — Julian Buescher shooting over the bar and Jonathan Spector teaming up with Joe Bendik to deny Lamar Neagle and Sebastien Le Toux, respectively — helped bring the skid to a halt.
There were some fine performances as well, by the likes of Spector, Bendik, Giles Barnes, Matias Perez Garcia, and others. The lack of finishing product continues to be an issue at times, but the injection of Barnes into the game in the last half hour turned the match in Orlando’s favor.
We hope you enjoy these images from a wet, rainy night at Orlando City Stadium.
