It took longer than expected but the Orlando Pride’s first win of the season was a satisfying one. After struggling to find the net over the first month of the season, the Pride struck three times against first-place North Carolina Courage to come away with a 3-1 win at Orlando City Stadium on Sunday.
Chioma Ubogagu, Camila, and Jasmyne Spencer all scored in the second half after a scoreless first 45 minutes to hand the Courage their first loss of the year and snap a frustrating 12-game winless streak for Orlando dating back to last July.
The Pride have endured a brutal stretch of games — mostly on the road — to start 2017. That start continues with trips to Seattle and Sky Blue up next, giving Orlando five away matches out of its first seven. If the team can get a couple more results to stay close before the schedule turns in the Pride’s favor, the second half of the season could be a rewarding one.
We hope you enjoy these images from an exciting match for the Pride faithful.
