Chicharito provided the only offense in Bayer Leverkusen's 1-0 win over Atletico Mineiro last night at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The Bundesliga side was a deserving winner after dominating possession and chances throughout the 90+ minutes but the Brazilian Serie A club was difficult to break down and physical in defense in front of goal.
Goalkeeper Uilson made several critical saves to hold Bayer Leverkusen off the board through the first 45 minutes but Mexican star striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez found the net early in the second period. Atletico didn't mount much offense in the match, attempting only a couple of shots and failing to threaten Bernd Leno's goal.
A few thousand fans turned out on what turned out to be a nice night in Kissimmee for the match, with most of the support seemingly on the Brazilian side. That didn't prevent loud cheers when Chicharito found the net to put the German club ahead with the game's only goal.
We hope you enjoy the images from last night's match.
