Lion Links: 7/15/2016

Brek-Mojis, MLS coaching diversity, an interview with a member of the Pride, MVP talk and more. Come check out this Friday edition of Lion Links!

Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

As we start another Friday edition of Lion Links, all of us here at The Mane Land would like to express our deepest and most sincere condolences for all those affected by the horrors that have taken place in Nice, France. We all hope that sometime in the very near future all of these senseless killings come to an end.

After another disappointing loss, times are looking quite tough for Orlando City fans. However, have no fear, double game week is here! The Vancouver Whitecaps should pose another challenge as the Red Bulls did on Wednesday night, but regardless of whether the Lions go out there and make everyone happy on Saturday, we're here to provide a little intelligent/comic/at times creepy relief to your current woes as an Orlando City supporter. So without further ado, to the links.

Lack of Diversity

Since the higher-ups at the club have decided to part ways with the only coach in Orlando City history, there is a vacancy at Orlando City Soccer Club. As I stated in this week's Pawedcast, whether you agree with the club's decision or not, the most important part of this situation going forward is who the club appoints as a replacement. Since they didn't immediately appoint someone, it's obvious that the decision is still being made, and a lack of diversity at the head coaching position across MLS might be something that Orlando City should factor into the decision.

In Depth with Steph Catley

Orlando Pride defender Steph Catley sat down with Erin Byrnes to talk about a variety of different topics. Whether it was her dog back home, her own personal motivations, or her roommate choices, this interview provides an incredible insight into one of our very own. Enjoy.

Brek and Ashlyn Join the Elite

Throughout the past few years, many celebrities and professional athletes have made apps, and more commonly had their own set of emojis. Super fans can become closer than ever, and in fact, express themselves through their favorite idols. Now Brek Shea, along with Kim Kardashian, Steph Curry, and rapper Future have all made their own custom keyboards. Get "Breking" folks.

Not to be outdone, Orlando Pride goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris also shared her own custom emojis, so you now have a pair of Orlando players to utilize in your texts, tweets, snaps, etc.

Early MVP Candidates

Though not too many Lions -- or the team as a whole for that matter -- have been playing all that great as of late, there is still some great soccer to be seen! MLS has been riveting this year as it is bursting at the seams with quality, and when you have so many players of high quality, some are left out in the cold when it comes to recognition. Which players are making the strongest case for some MVP recognition? And should any Orlando City players be on this list? Have your say in the comments below.

That's it for all of us here at The Mane Land. Have a fantastic start to your weekend!
