Welcome to an all-Florida Pride Pub, as the Lions take on the Jacksonville Armada this Wednesday at Southern Oak Stadium. It's a U.S. Open Cup match-up in the Sunshine State, and we're on a short turnaround. So let's get to it!

Here at the Pride Pub we provide the grub and grog recommendations that allow you to fully enjoy Orlando City matches. This edition of the Pub is a little different, but here's how this works: we choose a craft beer from the Florida city of our opponent and include a recipe to pair with that beer. We also choose an Orlando craft beer to represent our Lions.

From Jacksonville - Jon Boat, Intuition Ale Works

Back in 2010, Ben Davis started Intuition Ale Works, creating small batch brews. In 2012, Intuition was the first Florida brewery to start canning their beers.

According to the brewery:

"An English golden ale cool-fermented to enhance its refreshing and crisp lager-like characteristics...a perfect brew to accompany Jacksonville's hot summers."

Pair with: Traditional English Fish 'n Chips. An English golden ale is a euphemism for an English bitter, or ESB (extra special bitter). ESBs are one of my favorite styles of beer, and should be enjoyed with a traditional English dish.

Dave's recommendations: Malt Vinegar, of course. It's the only way to truly enjoy this dish.

From Orlando - Honeybell Wit, The Hourglass Brewery

In 2012, Brett Mason and Sky Conley started The Hourglass Brewery, creating specialty brews throughout the years, and some others that are year round.

According to the brewery:

"Honeybell Wit is a traditional Belgian style witbier brewed with 40 pounds of the highly sought after honeybell tangelo. In addition to honeybell, we also included coriander, and paradise seeds to make a well balanced beer with spicy black pepper notes and a soothing citrus character that is sure to quench your thirst on a warm, spring, Florida day. This will only come out once a year so come and get a glass now."

Pair with: Pasta Salad with Sausage and Peppers. Wit beers are cloudy in appearance and refreshing in taste. The sausage and peppers in the pasta salad will be a contrary taste to the wit.

Dave's recommendations: Fruit Salad! It's a salad-filled Pride Pub evidently, but the freshness of the fruit will complement the tastes in the wit beer.

You now have the all the ingredients you need to enjoy this U.S. Open Cup match against our in-state opponents. Thanks for coming by the Pub, and please leave us your comments below. Vamos Orlando!
