The Pride wasted no time treating their home fans to an exciting victory, beating the Houston Dash 3-1 last night at the Orlando Citrus Bowl in front of a league record crowd of more than 23,000 purple-clad fans. After a scoreless first half, the Pride came alive in the second 45 minutes and soon took control of the match, sending their supporters home happy.
We were on hand for the historic event, as professional women's soccer came to the City Beautiful. From the pageantry of the procession, to Phil Rawlins and NWSL Commissioner Jeff Plush, to the crowd, in-game action and even post-game aftermath, we were there to capture the images for you from the Pride's inaugural home opener.
We hope you enjoy these photos from last night's match and we look forward to bringing you more in the future.
