2016 Orlando City Academy College Postseason Roundup

With the college soccer season coming to a close, let’s look back at how some of Orlando City’s academy graduates did in the national postseason tournaments.

The 2016 Men's College Cup final was played Sunday afternoon between Wake Forest and Stanford, capping off the college soccer season. Several Orlando City academy products took part in national postseason tournaments this year. Let's take a look at how they did.

Noah Franke (Sophomore, D, Creighton University):

Started and recorded one shot in 3-0 win over Tulsa in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Started and recorded one shot in 3-2 win over Kentucky in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Started and recorded two shots in 2-1 loss to Providence in the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament.

Cameron Hardington (Sophomore, D, Amherst College):

Played in 3-0 win over Daniel Webster in second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Zach King (Sophomore, GK, Lenoir Rhyne University):

Started and played 90 minutes, conceding one goal and making four saves in 3-1 win over Tusculum in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Quarterfinal.

Started and played 90 minutes, conceding six goals and making eight saves in 6-1 loss to Pfeiffer in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Semifinal.

Michael Melvin (Sophomore, M, Clemson University):

Played 100 minutes in 2-1 overtime win over South Carolina in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Played 81 minutes in 3-1 win over Albany in the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament.

Michael O'Sullivan (Junior, D, Palm Beach Atlantic University):

Started and played 90 minutes in 2-1 win over Florida Tech in the second round of the Division II NCAA Tournament.

Started and played 90 minutes, recording two shots in 3-2 loss to Tampa in the Sweet Sixteen of the Division II NCAA Tournament.

Sean Reilly (Sophomore, D, Cedarville University):

Started in 1-0 win over Cincinnati Christian of the NCCAA Midwest Regional.

Started in 3-1 loss to Indiana Wesleyan of the NCCAA Midwest Regional.

Dennis Zapata (Freshman, M, Florida Gulf Coast University):

Played in and recorded one shot in a 2-2 shootout win over South Florida in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Played in and recorded one shot in a 3-2 double overtime loss to North Carolina in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
