Pride Pub: Orlando City vs. Sporting KC

Welcome back to Pride Pub, where we maximize your tailgating experience for Orlando City matches. This week, we're getting you ready for the match against Sporting KC with some fantastic grub and grog. Whether you're at the Citrus Bowl or hosting at home, you'll be ready!

Welcome back to the Pride Pub! Just a reminder on how this works: we choose a craft beer from the state/city/area of our opponent and include a yummy recipe to pair with that beer. Of course, we also choose a Florida craft beer to represent our Orlando City Lions and the beautiful Sunshine State.

This week, the Lions take on Sporting KC. Let's face it, Kansas City is known for a few things and one of those things is delicious BBQ, so we will focus on that aspect. Without further ado...

From Kansas City: Single-Wide IPA, Boulevard Brewing

From the Brewery:

"Boulevard Single-Wide I.P.A. is our take on a style that originated in 18th century Great Britain. This American version - inspired by our Smokestack Series Double-Wide I.P.A. - boasts a heady combination of six varieties of hops, some of which were employed for dry-hopping."

Pair withKansas City-style BBQ Ribs

Dave's Recommendations: Coleslaw of course! Since we're going with the KC theme, try Kansas City Sweet Coleslaw. Yummy.

From Florida: Invasion Pale Ale, Cigar City Brewing

From the Brewery:

"The people of Tampa Bay have fallen prey to Pirate invasion every year for well over 100 years. After more than a century of failing to repel these seafaring raiders in their anachronistic wooden ships, despite access to modern sea, land and air arsenals that ostensibly should make short work of wind powered vessels equipped with naught but cast iron cannons and raging scurvy, it occurred to the folks of Cigar City Brewing that if you can't beat them start saying Arrr Matey! And so we have brewed Invasion Pale Ale, a citrusy and tropical session beer brewed for those long days of marauding, pillaging and pirating. Cheers!"

Pair with:Chicken Curry

Dave's Recommendation: Might as well keep the Indian food vibe going with Indian Saffron Rice. Lots of spicy goodness to go along with the Pale Ale.

Thanks for patronizing Pride Pub. As always, Go City, beat Sporting KC! See you next week!
