Here we go again, you hosers! We're headed back to the Great White North to take on Toronto FC. There's plenty of time before the team takes the long trip north, so we're sending you on a short trip as well. Time to head back to Tomoka Brewing Co. for one of this week's selections. Go get your growler, it's a road trip!
Just a reminder on how this works: we choose a craft beer from the country/state/city of our opponent and we include an appropriate recipe to go along with it. Of course, we also choose a Florida craft beer to represent our Orlando City Lions, and the beautiful Sunshine State. I think that's enough exposition, hosehead, get on with it, eh!
From Canada, eh - La Fin du Monde, Unibroue Brewery
I'm not sure that Bob and Doug would have known about this Triple-style Golden Ale, but I am sure that they would have fought over the last one. We're playing Toronto FC for the third time, and you know that the third time is supposed to be the charm. So have three of these, for this third match, for three points.
Pair with: Potato Cheddar Perogies
Dave's Recommendations: Making your own Canadian Bacon would be very difficult, even with a week to prepare, so just go find yourself some at your local butcher, and fry it up with the perogies.
From Florida - Hazy Sunrise Wheat Ale, Tomoka Brewing Co.
We head back to Port Orange to fill our growlers with this tasty Wheat Ale. And, since the first time we went there, 64 oz. growlers are now legal in the State of Florida! Freedom!!!
"What’s that glorious golden glow, streaming out from the hazy morning heavens? It’s a light & refreshing Hefeweizen, with a kiss of Florida citrus! Brewed with wheat & pilsner base malts, this easy-drinking beer is great any time of day (with no judgment from us!)"
Pair with: White Pizza
Dave's recommendations: French fries...just kidding. Instead, how about a nice Arugula Salad to go along with your pizza and beer? Easy, delicious, and pub healthy!
So, there you have it Pride Pub patrons. Perogies, White Pizza, Arugula Salads, and beers suited for very fine tastes. Quite the odd visit to the Pub this week, but very delicious, nonetheless.
Until next week, Go City! Beat Toronto FC!
