Photo Gallery: Orlando City's Inaugural Game vs. New York City FC

We tip our hat to photographer Nick Leyva, who captured the sights of the Lions' first Major League Soccer match in front of 62,510 people.

Although we'd rather have had the full three points, yesterday's 1-1 draw was very fulfilling in a lot of ways. Orlando City SC put on a great show, both before and during the game, and the atmosphere was electric. Every chance, every hard tackle and every save evoked a reaction from more than 62,000 purple-clad fans.

Kaká, David Villa and Mix Diskerud supplied the star power on the pitch. The first and last of those three supplied the goals. There were yellow cards, a red card, two goals, six City corner kicks and hard challenges all over the pitch by both the Lions and visitors New York City FC.

Despite being scoreless for 75 minutes, it was an entertaining match and the excitement was palpable.

Mane Land photographer Nick Leyva captured all the excitement, from pregame to the final kick. We invite you to check out his incredible work as way to relive an amazing and historic day in the City Beautiful.
